Samira Golbaz

Samira Golbaz was born on Jan 25, 1984, in Tehran, Iran.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Music from Sooreh University (2002–2006)

Master’s degree in Art Research from Azad University (2013–2015)

Teachers:

Setar: Ataollah Jangouk, Hamid Sokouti, Bahram Jamali, Alireza Rastinfar, Masoud Shoari, Hamid Motebassem

Bam Tar: Hamid Motebassem

Music Theory: Hamid Motebassem

Professional Activities:

  • Teaching music since 2005 in Iran, since 2016 in various European cities, and online since 2019.
  • Ensemble performances with the groups: Mezrab, Sarv-e Azad, Tar-o-Pood, Pardis.
  • Co-founding the Damsaz ensemble in the Netherlands in 2021 with Hamid Motebassem.
  • Collaborating with the Hamid Motebassem Music School and organizing annual concerts since 2016.
  • Performing in numerous concerts and festivals across various countries as a setar and bam tar player with the above-mentioned ensembles.
  • Managing Hamid Motebassem’s YouTube channel since 2020.
